  • Systems mapping is a type of modeling that is designed to reveal the underlying relationships and interactions between stakeholders in a defined system.

It is a way to visualize a complex “system” by collaborating with community stakeholders who share their experiences with the system.

  • Resilience-based approaches:

    • Incorporate multiple levels of influence

    • Establish and model linkages in dynamic systems

    • Emphasize strengths, capacities, and resources

    • Capture leverage points for change

Require careful mapping through participative analysis with diverse stakeholders

  • At the heart of the core story is ʻāina momona, which represents the ideal of a rich, abundant, and sustainable land.

ʻĀina (or that which feeds us) plays a central role in Native Hawaiian culture and encompasses both land and water.
